Judo Coach
Sensei Markus West
I’ve been training and competing for 10 years in judo and jiu jitsu . I took over the judo program about 5 years ago at JGMMA. Since then, I have mostly focused on judo for jiu jitsu because that’s what most compete in . When kids are in my class I try to enforce constant action and aggression to off balance and eventually get the take down. I run a high paced program that is hard work but usually fun as well.
There’s usually Latin music playing in the background because I feel it helps with timing and rhythm.
Watching the progress of my students in class and competitions makes me feel like a proud parent. I never ask the class to do anything I won’t and I enjoy competing along side them when I can. I’ve always got a smile on but, I expect respect and attention during my lessons.
Expect to work hard sweat and get better each time you step on the mats. If you’re here you are family and I will treat you as such.
